 Camelon Cemetery, Camelon

Address
Dorrator Road,
Camelon,
FK2 7YJ

The baby garden is near the new part of the cemetery. Follow the main road round to the right. As you pass the new area on your right, the baby garden is on the left hand side just to the side of the small car park area.

The baby garden here consists of a communal burial garden and a wall where memorial plaques can be added. Unfortunately, there is no room for personal flower pots or headstones.

Rather than use the baby gardens, some parents decide to buy a full size plot (single or family) in the normal part of the cemetery where they can erect a full size headstone. Others choose a cemetery near their home, or one that has a particular significance to them e.g. other family members buried there.

The alternative option is cremation. There is only one crematorium in the Forth Valley area and this is in Falkirk within Camelon Cemetery. Details can be found on the Falkirk Council website.

After cremation, some parents choose to bury their baby's ashes in one of the choices above. Many parents also choose to scatter their baby's ashes over another grave that is meaningful to them (e.g. grandparent) or somewhere else that is special to them. Specific permission may be needed for this, depending on the location chosen.
